house in west sussex countryside

PROGRESS UPDATE - a beautiful new home is taking shape in the West Sussex countryside

We’re excited to share that our new countryside home in West Sussex is making fantastic progress on site. This beautifully situated project is beginning to take full form, with the main structure rapidly taking shape thanks to the use of monolithic Porotherm clay blocks — a sustainable and efficient construction method that’s proving its worth.

The main contractor are doing a fantastic job and have now completed the installation of the timber posi-joists and plywood decking. They’re currently building up the first floor Porotherm walls, all protected by an impressive scaffolding structure that keeps everything dry while the home is made watertight.

We’re working closely with both the main contractor and our clients to make sure everything aligns with the design brief, planning permission, and building regulations. It’s a real team effort, and we’re thrilled to see this vision come to life!

This home, designed to complement its natural surroundings, combines thoughtful contemporary design with materials that promote longevity and environmental performance — values at the heart of Pell-Stevens Architects’ approach.

Stay tuned for more updates as the build continues.
